Nicholas Champ trained as a Chartered Accountant in the UK having graduated with an honours degree in Economics from the University of Manchester. He qualified with and worked for several years for Spicer and Pegler (now Deloitte) before leaving private practice to set up the Singh Family Office for Tom Singh and his family in 1995 and relocating to Switzerland in 2009. He stepped down as CEO in September 2013 taking the role of Trustee and Director of the Singh Family Trustee Company. Nick also sits on a number of Private Equity Advisory Boards.
Chairman & Founder
Daniela has over 15 years international experience in commodity trading, corporate finance, investment consulting, institutional client relations, institutional sales and human resources management. She is the Founder and Chairman of Topan AG (www.topan.ch). Furthermore she is fostering investments in sustainable technologies aligned with the principles of Triple-E. She sits on the board of an affiliate of a globally leading provider of green investment expertise and climate neutral & water services and is Chairman of Charitable Trust. Daniela holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen and an MBA from the University of Zurich. She is a certified management coach and brings to the consortium a wealth of experience in managing start-ups and building organisational systems from scratch around people and technologies aiming for scalability. She is nominated for the Enterprising Women of the Year Award 2013 and is a certified member of UnitedSucces the worldwide network of woman business owners. She is fluent in German, English, Spanish and proficient in French and Italian.
Markus has a lifetime’s national and international experience in the design and funding of private and public pension funds. Obtaining a master’s in Law from the University of Zurich, his career moved quickly into advising corporations on pension structure. Between 1989 & 1999, Markus was an adviser to the World Bank in the development of pension schemes in Eastern Europe. Following his undertaking of an Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, moved into senior managerial roles and board positions, including CEO of a Swisscanto company, the leading investment fund provider, asset manager and provider of occupational and private pensions solutions in Switzerland. Retiring in 2012, he has retained various board positions, including Topan. Markus is fluent in German, French and English and prides himself on helping to define and realize strategic goals while retaining sound economic and ethical principles.
Partner Topan Advisory
Sharron McPherson is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. A former Wall Street Investment Banker and Attorney, Sharron brings over 20 years experience in structured finance, legal and corporate finance advisory services. For the past 15 years Sharron has concentrated on structuring projects principally in the energy and manufacturing sectors in emerging markets such as Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Sharron holds degrees in Economics and Finance, and a doctorate in Jurisprudence from Columbia University School of Law (New York). She completed Post-Doctoral studies at Singularity University (NASA Ames), and currently teaches Project Finance at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. Sharron also serves as a Special Advisor to a host of multi-national and multi-lateral organisations across Sub-Saharan Africa.
She is fluent in English and French and proficient in Spanish and Italian.
Topan Finance & Legal
Sven Haile is based in London, England and assists Topan in the strategic, financial and legal aspects of project valuation. Sven gained significant experiences over one decade in international merchant banking and project finance as a director of the Strategic Group, an Anglo-Swiss company with private equity direct investments in real estate, renewable energy and technology in Europe and North America. Prior to that, he was a software technician at Business Objects in the UK and US. Sven holds a joint Executive MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and London Business School and is a fluent English and German speaker.
Topan Business Development & Project Impact
Stefanie Kaiser is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh. Currently, she is engaged in studying part-time towards a master’s in Tropical Forestry. Stefanie has followed an interdisciplinary approach and has worked in the environmental and the communications / media sector for 8 years. Born in Austria, she has lived in South America, Spain and the United Kingdom, and is fluent in German, Spanish and English.
Dr. Ralf-Eckard Türke
Dr. Ralf-Eckhard Türke is responsible for overseeing the governance systems utilized by Topan. He has considerable project experience in large and mid-sized private companies and public organizations. Alongside his involvement with Topan,, he is currently the CEO of Sustainance GmbH and the Managing Director of the Centre for Transdisciplinary Governance at the Institute for Systemic Management and Public Governance at the University of St.Gallen. Ralf-Eckhard has a joint master’s degree in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Darmstadt, and has taught at the Management Centre St.Gallen. Fluent in German, English and Spanish, he has lived in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia.
